Gynaecology and Obstetrics in Warsaw - one specialisation, continuity of care
The combination of gynaecology and obstetrics allows for the provision of continuous medical care to patients - from preventive and diagnostic gynaecological care, through planning and conducting pregnancies, to childbirth.

A gynaecologist provides prevention, diagnosis and treatment for conditions of the female reproductive system. Regular prevention is key — routine check-ups and tests. The first gynaecological examination is usually recommended around age 16–17 (earlier if symptoms occur / sexual activity has begun). Regardless of age, it is worth seeing a gynaecologist at least once a year.
Obstetrics – care for pregnant women
As part of the Gynaecology and Obstetrics specialisation at OpenMed Medical Centre, we offer comprehensive care for pregnant women - from pregnancy confirmation, through regular check-ups, to preparation for childbirth. We provide an individual approach, modern diagnostics and continuity of medical care.
Pregnancy care
We provide obstetric care including:
- pregnancy confirmation and early assessment of its development
- regular check-up visits in accordance with current standards
- monitoring of maternal health and proper fetal development
- planning and coordination of tests necessary in individual trimesters of pregnancy.
Pregnancy care after in vitro fertilisation
At OpenMed we also manage pregnancies achieved through in vitro fertilisation (IVF). We provide specialised medical care in the early stages of pregnancy and in subsequent phases, taking into account the individual needs of patients after infertility treatment.
Diagnostics during pregnancy
As part of obstetric care, the following are performed:
- ultrasound examinations appropriate to the stage of pregnancy
- ongoing assessment of the expectant mother's health
- qualification for further prenatal tests - in accordance with medical indications.

We address pubertal disorders, very painful or irregular periods, abnormal bleeding, recurrent vulval/vaginal infections, lower abdominal pain, and assessment of possible anatomical anomalies. Appointments are gentle and age-appropriate (examination only when indicated; abdominal ultrasound and basic hormonal tests if needed). We provide education on hygiene, puberty, prevention and HPV vaccination.
