How is intrauterine device insertion performed?

Non-hormonal (copper):

Hormonal:

- Less frequently: headaches, breast tenderness, nausea
- Over time, many women experience reduction or cessation of periods

Rare but serious complications include: uterine perforation, infections, IUD expulsion.
