What does the otoscopic examination at OpenMed look like?
During the visit, the ENT specialist takes a history concerning the reported symptoms, their duration and the treatment so far. They then perform the examination using an otoscope - a special device equipped with a light source and an optical system that enables a detailed view of the inside of the ear canal.
The examination usually takes a few minutes. The doctor gently inserts the tip of the otoscope into the ear and assesses the condition of the ear canal and the eardrum. The patient may feel slight discomfort related to the manipulation within the ear, however the examination should not cause pain.
