Radiological Ultrasound at OpenMed – full range of ultrasound diagnostics
See also: Heart ultrasound (echocardiography).
Radiological ultrasound is one of the basic diagnostic examinations, used in the assessment of internal organs, soft tissues, and blood vessels. It is a non-invasive, safe, painless examination that can be performed on both adults and children, as well as pregnant women. Ultrasonography enables the detection of many diseases at an early stage, supports therapeutic decisions, and forms the foundation of modern outpatient diagnostics.
At OpenMed, ultrasound examinations are performed by experienced radiologists and imaging diagnosticians, using high-class ultrasound equipment (GE, Siemens), which ensures very high image quality and diagnostic precision.
Below you will find the full range of radiological ultrasound examinations performed at OpenMed Medical Centre.

- check-ups after oncological treatment
Ultrasound – Heart Echo (Echocardiography)

- ejection fraction
- blood flow and pressures
- heart efficiency and function
Indications:
- hypertension
- shortness of breath, fainting, heart palpitations
- heart failure
- chest pain
- valve diseases
- post-COVID-19 check-up
Doppler Ultrasound – comprehensive vascular flow analyses
Carotid and Vertebral Artery Doppler Ultrasound
The Doppler phenomenon allows assessment of blood flow and narrowing of carotid and vertebral vessels. Indications: dizziness, tinnitus, hypertension, vision disorders, post-stroke check-ups, age 60+, obesity, insulin resistance, smoking.
Upper Limb Vein Doppler Ultrasound
The examination detects narrowing, clots, and obstructions in upper limb veins. Indications: swelling, numbness, pain, weakness, post-traumatic check-ups.
Lower Limb Vein Doppler Ultrasound
Diagnostics of venous thrombosis, venous insufficiency, vascular malformations, and qualification for procedures.
Abdominal Aorta and Iliac Artery Ultrasound
The examination assesses the condition of the aorta and iliac arteries, particularly for aneurysms. Indications: back pain, age 65+, family history, treatment monitoring. Preparation: 6 hours fasting, no gum chewing or smoking 1 hour before the examination.
Urinary System Ultrasound
Ultrasound allows assessment of the kidneys, bladder, and urinary tract. Indications: infections, kidney stones, micturition disorders, lower back pain.
